You may have read one of my posts, A Tour of the Venetian Islands or Review: Hotel Danieli and the Doge’s Palace. We went to Venice to celebrate a friend’s birthday. It was a long weekend of sightseeing and indulgence.
We walked around the city to absorb its culture, buy souvenirs, and taste as much wine as we could. St. Mark’s Square, with its magnificent Basilica and beautiful canals, was also highlighted. We also enjoyed the water buses and the stunning views.
The water bus is first. You can easily walk to the docks from the terminal and pay for a private waterbus or wait in line for the next one.
We chose the latter to save money for the delicious food of the city. Soon, we were aboard. We sat in the best seats, with an amazing view. Then, we relaxed and enjoyed this quiet mode of transportation.
The return trip costs EUR27 per person, which is much cheaper than private water taxis. We were dropped off in front of our Hotel after a relaxing cruise around the lagoon.
We saw many canals and bridges during our weekend in Venice. I recommend that you take some time to explore for yourself. You never know what you’ll find!
St. Mark’s Square and the Basilica are a must-see on any trip to Venice. It’s worth spending some time in the museums and sights, even though it is crowded. However, you will have to pay a lot of money to sit at a cafe or restaurant.
