You may have read my post, A Tour of the Venetian Islands, and know that we went to Venice to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We spent a long weekend in Venice, sightseeing, eating, drinking, and enjoying ourselves.

We chose to stay in the famous hotel Danieli. This 5-star hotel is incredibly central and offers great views of the lagoon. It’s just a stone’s throw away from St Mark’s Square. The first Palazzo dates back to the 14th century. Subsequent palaces were added in the 19th- and 20th-century.

This hotel is filled with antiques and artifacts that have been collected over the years. It’s a great place for travelers to discover!

Our Room

We selected a twin, and thanks to my friend’s employer, we were upgraded to a room with a balcony as well as a terrace. The hotel was located in a quieter part of the hotel, facing the Doge’s palace.

The room was spacious, with a hallway leading to a bedroom that featured twin beds, a flat-screen television, a desk sev, several ornate tables and chairs, and a coat rack.

The bathroom had a white marble floor, with a large shower above the bath, and, of course, slippers and robes.

The View

The top floor is home to the breakfast/dining area, the bistro restaurant, and the terrace with the best view of Venice.

There is nothing better than watching gondolas bobbing along the shore of San Giorgio Maggiore and the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute on a sunny afternoon.

The Danieli Hotel was a great place to stay. We enjoyed the attentive service, the generous breakfast, and the prosecco for those who wanted to indulge. The Danieli is a great place to stay. It has a perfect location, incredible views from the rooftop, and excellent service.
